We’ll Be Back Shortly!

wellbeback

IT’S BEEN ONE YEAR SINCE WE’VE LAUNCHED! Well a few days over a year, but that’s just the technicalities. We’re not doing anything to celebrate because we feel like this brand has so much more to go before we do any celebrating. We will be doing some changing around the site though! With the new year here, we are trying to bring you more original content and less re-posts from other blogs! So please bear with us [Read More]

Also in terms of apparel and our products, help spread the word [Read More]

Pyramid Work.

Almost immediately after his very impressive SNL performance last Saturday, Frank Ocean reveals the music video for his channel ORANGE single, Pyramids. One of my favorite directors in the industry right now, Nabil, directed this one and I am not disappointed. The slightly NSFW video show Frankie Oceans as he goes on a (possibly Molly influenced) psychedelic journey through strip clubs and highways until he ends up at a strange object with John Mayer playing the same [Read More]

Jungle Tags and Ish.

I absolutely love detailed tagging like this. Its absolutely amazing. French artists, Tyrsa and Franck Pellegrino, came together for something called “Welcome to the Jungle“, which is a celebration of both graffiti art and the streets in which they are often displayed. The piece that they created together is truly amazing, featuring details such as tribal etching, high contrast, beautiful colors, and amazing typography. Watching this video makes me really want to try painting like this but [Read More]

Blood and Gaga.

So Lady Gaga came out with a fragrance called Fame. The smell is based on blood and semen, supposedly. As gross as that sounds and even though I have no idea what it actually smells like, I think this is great. Lady Gaga also released a five-minute short film to promote this black liquid perfume and its pretty amazing. The dark, twisted, and psychedelic short film a lot of elements that you would expect from Gaga but [Read More]

Hand-Drawn Type.

Designer and artist, Jon Contino, is a master at hand-drawn type. He is one of the great creatives who really know exactly where they want to go, want to do, and aren’t afraid of what they need to get there. His work ethic is amazing, and I really need to step mine up. I’m here blogging half awake because of food coma and not lack of sleep (although I have that too), contemplating whether I want to [Read More]

Los Angeles Screen Printers.

If you’ve ever wondered how t-shirts are made or more specifically, how screen printing works, the good people over at Thrash Lab have made a video for you guys! The medium of screen-printing has always been a go-to for brands and creatives within both the fashion and communication industries. The (relative) ease and accessibility to the materials and such have been super appealing to a lot of creatives. I use a local screen printer in downtown Los [Read More]

Big Boy’s Neighborhood Style.

I know I’ve been terrible with the posts lately, but I really have been busy. :( So I know that you guys are probably tired of all theses Gangnam Style parodies and remakes by now, but I promise you that this one is different! Last Friday, I had the amazing opportunity to shoot a Power 106 Gangnam Style video with the one and only PSY and Big Boy’s Neighborhood. Oh man, I was so excited when I [Read More]

The Art of the Music Video.

Screen shot 2012-09-11 at 10.34.11 PM

Hypebeast started a new video series called The Videographers Guide. Its a new web series that documents young filmmakers as they produce videos mostly for the web in all different types of genres. In this first episode, the series talks about the topic of music videos and the filmmakers in the genre both back in the day and today. They go from the beginnings of the music video to its now mass produceable self within the digital [Read More]

I might be hypebeastin‘ a bit, but everything that comes out of DONDA‘s doors is amazing. From the 2 Chainz B.O.A.T. album covers to, now, the music video for Birthday Song, DONDA has been the epitome of what bougie ghetto is and truly represents Kanye‘s design sense in the best way possible. Directed by Andreas Nilsson, an executive/director under Kanye’s DONDA creative collective, the music video for 2 Chainz and Ye’s Birthday Song features an amazing pseudo-one [Read More]
