2011 was an interesting year for me in terms of music. I think I listened to more music in 2011 than in any other year of my life. Especially since I started work at a radio station, I started being exposed to alot of music, specifically hip-hop. From real ratchet shit to the trash hip-pop as I like to call it, I’ve been listening to everything. From Drake‘s Day Care, I mean Take Care, to Amy Winehouse‘s posthumous album, Lioness Hidden Treasures, there’s been really good music in almost all my favorite genres. I have been trying to keep up with all the genres (besides country, I don’t fuck with that shit), but there was just so much GOOD music this past year.
Technically, its still the first week of January, so I wanted to do a music re-cap post from 2011. Here are my top 10 songs and top 5 albums of 2011.
