This whole Common x Drake beef is getting so entertaining. I love them both as they both made two of my favorite albums of the year, but I’m starting to feel bad for Aubrey.
The beef all started out with Common’s Sweet, seeming like an apparent diss to rapper’s who sing, but specifically to Drake.
Then there were the personal shoutouts during Power 106′s Cali Christmas where both of them shared the stage (but not at the same time). This whole time, I’m trying to figure out why these two guys, who are known to be super nice, are going at each other like this. I still think its all marketing. Then Rick Ross dropped his mixtape, Rich Forever, on Friday and featured a song called Stay Schemin’, which has Drake on the track. People are saying that Drake’s verses are a diss back to Common, but after listening, I feel like its more of a response than a diss.
Common responded back today with his remix of Stay Schemin’, with a very direct diss to Aubrey. Common’s words were harsh on his verses.
I feel bad for Aubrey. But I’m excited to see where this goes. I just hope no one gets hurt.
