Kung Fu Without F-U.

mwif-poster-1

The Man with the Iron Fists is a film that I have been waiting for for a while. I think I first heard about the film back in 2008 and I kind of forgot about it until some news popped up recently. I’ve always been a fan of RZA, more for his film career pursuing, actually, than his music, but only because I never really listened to Wu (It’s still on my to-do list, I promise. And yes, I’m ashamed to say it.) I’ve always known about RZA’s love for old school kung-fu films and how it really inspired a lot of his music and other works, so for a chance for him to direct his own kung-fu film was something very promising.

The film is written by both RZA and Eli Roth and presented by Quentin Tarantino, which are all good signs for a gory promising modern take on the kung-fu genre. The film stars RZA along with big names such as Russel Crowe, Lucy Liu, and my future wife, Jamie Chung. The film tells the epic story of warriors, assassins and a lone outsider hero in nineteenth-century China who must unite to destroy the clan traitor who would destroy them all.

The film looks to also be featuring an amazing soundtrack. The music in the trailer was absolutely perfect, so I can’t wait to see how music will play its role in the film. I’m so excited for this, especially after watching the trailer below. I can’t wait.
