I didn’t get to catch all of the acts, but I did manage to cover Tyga, Common, Pusha T, J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar and friends, Hieroglyphics, and Kid Cudi. I was sad that I missed 2 Chainz, but the other acts, I can live without seeing, at least, for now (I can afford to see Nas later in my life, don’t hurt me). By mid-day of day 2, I was way too exhausted and dehydrated to stay the rest of the day. I wish that the Los Angeles lineup had A$AP Rocky in it, I would’ve definitely stayed for that. I got to finally see Common live and saw 93′ til Infinity live too, so I’m pretty good.

I was able to get a lot of good video coverage and some photos from the event and put together my own re-cap for it. It also has some non-performance footage and its the fun kind, and by the fun kind, I mean the possibly NSFW kind! I have always really wanted to print this shirt because I felt that it was important to the brand, but I was afraid that it might be too late because the song has died out quite a bit. Luckily, its still heard on the radio pretty often and I’m still not tired of the song (even though I heard it 8 times in a row at the Los Angeles show..). So against better judgement, I decided to go ahead and print the shirt, but in a limited run. I’ve only printed 50 of these shirts and I expect to sell out.

The shirts are available now online on both our website and our Facebook page. If they are popular, I’ll probably print them in a different colorway. These are our first official limited release! I think the photos do a good job of showcasing the different types of looks that people can have with our brand. The photos were shot in the north campus Sculpture Garden (my hood). Using our models, we were able to create a good number of different types of outfits. Our shirts even look great on the females! Let us know what you think!

In March 2011, Japan was hit by a devastating earthquake and tsunami shortly after. They are still suffering from the aftereffects from the event and are in need of help.

This year, we decided it would be a good idea to send them some love. All profit from this shirt design will be donated to a Japan tsunami relief fund, so please help out by buying a dope shirt! As soon as we get some things finalized, I’ll be updating this post with some more information about what organization and such.

After that show, I can honestly say I’ve never had that much fun at a concert before. The interview went super well and Donald Glover is definitely one of the nicest people I have ever met. I’m going to say it right now, Childish Gambino is going to be big in 2012.

Okay, no seriously, so in order to really get this brand up and running and also to get a feel for how many of you guys are interested in something like this, I’m launching a Kickstarter project! For those of you that haven’t heard of Kickstarter, its a website where people can submit projects that they need funding for and people can come to support the project with their money. Depending on the project, you get certain rewards for pledging certain amounts.

I promise the rewards are going to be worth it. This is a passion project of mine that I’ve been meaning to finally get started for a few years now. Not only do I guarantee original designs, but I’m going to personally go out and look for high-quality blanks for everything to be printed on so that I know you guys will look like the shit when you wear my shit.

Dashet is going to be a streetwear brand along the lines of Stussy, Supreme, UNDFTD, HUF, etc. Its mostly an outlet for me to get some of my designs out there and also for designer friends of mine to collaborate and get their work out there too. As the brand grows and expands (hopefully), I want to move from just t-shirts to sweatshirts, wovens and eventually, outerwear and denim.
