Araab x Brown.

Filmmakers Yours Truly and Adidas Originals have come together to continue a series that they call “Songs From Scratch“. The latest addition to the series includes the up and coming rapper Danny Brown and one of my favorite producers right now, araabMUZIK, coming together for the first time to create a brand new track. The video gives us an inside look at the process that took place for this song to be made. You can see them [Read More]

Kung Fu Without F-U.

The Man with the Iron Fists is a film that I have been waiting for for a while. I think I first heard about the film back in 2008 and I kind of forgot about it until some news popped up recently. I’ve always been a fan of RZA, more for his film career pursuing, actually, than his music, but only because I never really listened to Wu (It’s still on my to-do list, I promise. And [Read More]

Look East Film Festival.

I don’t want to say this again as I am getting increasingly annoying but YES, I am a fan of Park Chan Wook (J.S.A., Old Boy). After I watched Old Boy (2003) back in 2007, the scenario that took place after the viewing went went very much like an overdose: my body convulsing, eyes bloodshot, and mouth foaming. I looked like one of Park’s own vengeful and blood-hungry characters. I wanted more! More beautifully crafted cinematography, more [Read More]

The Avengers Interface.

Sorry I’ve been MIA from blogging for the past couple weeks, its been busy, but I should be back to my usual schedule. Time to play catch-up! Its been over a month since the release of the huge blockbuster film, Marvel’s The Avengers, and if you haven’t seen it yet, there is something seriously wrong with you. One of the awesome aspects of the film is the special effects and CG used in the movie. I’m a [Read More]

G.I. Who?

I’m sure everyone went completely berzerk last week when they found out that G.I. Joe Retaliation which was suppose to come out June 29 is now pushed back to next year March 23, 2013. Why would they do such a thing you ask? There’s only one “reasonable” answer in the eyes of studio execs: more money. These Paramount execs must only see shiny $$$ signs if they can’t see that this marvelous plan to emulate the success of 3D-post [Read More]

Run Woodkid Run.

An absolutely epic song to an beautifully epic music video. The new music video by Woodkid for the single, Run Boy Run, is one of the single most gorgeous things that I have seen on film as of late. The cinematography and compositing used to make the video is perfect for the song. I don’t know if I would like the song if I had heard it by itself, but with the video, its perfect. The video [Read More]

Lost in the City.

Lost in the World is one of my favorite tracks off of Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album, which dropped in November of 2010. The album, in general, was amazing and I really wished that they had made a few more music videos for some of the tracks on the album. A little slow, but never too late, Kanye has released a video for Lost in the World and its beautiful. Filmmaker Ruth Hogben collaborated with [Read More]

2012 in Film Part 2.

This is Part 2 of the 22 film releases in 2012 that I have taken interest to. Again, I will be working backwards from that list. I hope you all enjoy! On a side note, I know that both of my entries are very subjective and without a doubt I probably missed or forgot about other important/interesting films that are coming out. With that it mind, please feel free to voice your own opinions and suggestions on the movies that [Read More]

We Are Giants.

If you guys have been following my blog, you know that I’m a huge fan of Donald Glover in both film and music. Whenever I see his music pop up on the internets, I tend to try to listen to it right away. Its rare to see him as a feature, but it has happened a couple times. Usually the feature tracks aren’t so great, but this new track by newcomer Josh Osho is pretty darn catchy. [Read More]
