Zucchini Blossolini.

One of my favorite people to blog about is back. Action Bronson brings us a new video in collaboration with MySpace for their OneToWatch series on cooking his fried zucchini blossoms. Bronson is a huge fan of food, and even took up the official title as chef before he actually gave it up for the rap game. The zucchini blossoms are stuffed with ricotta and served with a pseudo-tomato jam. Action Bronson also goes into his background a little bit and we get to learn about his life growing up in Queens and his experience as a musician. Also we get to see him trash on a Whole Foods worker. Hilarious.

This is absolutely one of my favorite songs right now. Its been a while since I liked a song by The Dream, but this one is too dope. The Pusha T feature is great as usual. The video for the song features some beautiful females and, of course, some dope, well, a lot of dope. Its a simple video and pretty much the standard when it comes to hip-hop music videos, but I absolutely love it. Its just so simple and clean and the I love the song. The only problem I had with this video (quoting one of the comments) is that. “its a little too close to the nose” (cue drums). This song also makes me more excited for the G.O.O.D. Music album because of Pusha’s feature. CAN’T WAIT.

L’orange, Chanel.

The current talk within the music world and Odd Future member, Frank Ocean, released his new album, channel ORANGE, a week early on iTunes last night. The OFWGKTA vocalist dropped his highly-anticipated debut studio album and Nostalgia, Ultra follow-up in a full album stream also. The album features his latest singles Pyramids, Sweet Life, and Bad Religion, which he performed last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The album is absolutely amazing, but I mean most people expected nothing less. Grammy-worthy? I guess we’ll find out. You can listen to the entire album below via the full album stream before you decide to purchase it. I’m definitely going to cop the physical copy next week when it drops. The album, channel ORANGE is now available for purchase through iTunes and will drop in stores next Tuesday, July 17.

#ROYALTY.

As Donald Glover said, his #ROYALTY mixtape dropped today on our nation’s Independence Day. This new Childish Gambino mixtape had been hinted at for months, with tracks leaking and dropping on the radio every now and then. Some of the tracks that were already leaked were Unnecessary, Shoulda Known, Black Faces, Silk Pillow, and some other songs that didn’t make the mixtape. This mixtape, unlike his others and his album, is feature-heavy and man, are the features dope. The mixtape features the likes of Ghostface Killah, RZA, Bun B, Danny Brown, Beck, his little brother Steve G. Lover, and even the likes of Tina Fey. I just remembered, but I thought the mixtape cover was supposed to feature a picture of Stone Mountain?

Donald’s brother, Steve G. Lover, is also a dope rapper and is featured on the track, One Up. Steve dropped his mixtape a few days ago and its pretty good. You can download Summer of Steve HERE.

Action Graphics Part Deux.

There’s one thing I love and wish I had time to experiment more with, well maybe two, but one of them is motion graphics. I’ve posted about the chef before, but if you don’t know, Action Bronson is one of my favorite up and coming rappers.

Bronson’s new single dropped recently and so did the video for it. Hot Shots Part Deux has that classic Bronsolini sound with production by White Russian and features a visually fantastic video. This song is, more or less, a follow up track to Bronson’s collab with Riff Raff on Bird on a Wire.

Go Right Ahead.

The Hives was one of my favorite bands while I was going through my high school rock phase and I still love to listen to them from time to time. I think one of the main reasons why I stopped listening to them was because of the fact that they haven’t made new music since about the time I was in high school. They’ve been on a five year hiatus. FIVE YEARS! No wonder I haven’t heard of them for a while, I just thought they died out. Their upcoming album, Lex Hives, is set to hit stores next month and I’m excited. The Hives has released some new visuals for their first single, Go Right Ahead, and its a simple video for a song that really represent the sound that I’m familiar with when it comes to The Hives. Man, I feel like I’ve written “The Hives” a million times. I love them. In the video, the Swedish band visit a studio in Stockholm, dressed in tuxes and top hats, performing the song. The song is apparently their take on Electric Light Orchestra’s Don’t Bring Me Down. The new album is set to come out June 5! Let me know what you guys think about the return of The Hives below!

One of my favorite “YouTube rapper” (God, I hate that term), just released a new video for his own verse on, what’s now known as, the Common x Drake beef track, Stay Schemin‘. He dropped this for the Hypetrak contest. Once again, Azuré drops a hot video for a dope verse. Justin Park is really starting to do some big things. I’m excited for what he has to bring in 2012. Keep your eyes open for this kid.
