Happy Birthday Webhead.

AmazingSpiderMan_692_Cover

Happy birthday Spider-Man! This month marks the 50th birthday of my favorite superhero, Spider-Man. Marvel has planned a few events for the celebration of the world’s favorite webhead, which included the release of this year’s The Amazing Spider-Man in theatres. The celebration also includes some incredible variant covers for this month’s issues and also a special new story arc in The Amazing Spider-Man comics. After looking at a few of these variant covers, I definitely need to [Read More]

Life of Ang Lee.

I remember reading Life of Pi by Yann Martell in high school (or was it college?) and it is still one of the most unique novels that I’ve read. The concept of a boy getting shipwrecked on a small lifeboat with a Bengal tiger, a spotted hyena, a zebra, and an orangutan is pretty silly at first, but Life of Pi executes it amazingly. Its been a while since I’ve read the book, maybe I should try [Read More]

Justice and Punishment.

Thomas-Jane-The-Punisher

I have always been a huge of Thomas Jane and his work. Although I loved the fact that he played The Punisher at one point in the character’s many film versions, I don’t think that I’ve actually ever seen the movie. I loved him in The Mist and also in his (wrongly cancelled) show, Hung. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen more of his work but I don’t remember. I just love the fact that he’s such a [Read More]

The Avengers Interface.

Sorry I’ve been MIA from blogging for the past couple weeks, its been busy, but I should be back to my usual schedule. Time to play catch-up! Its been over a month since the release of the huge blockbuster film, Marvel’s The Avengers, and if you haven’t seen it yet, there is something seriously wrong with you. One of the awesome aspects of the film is the special effects and CG used in the movie. I’m a [Read More]

Vintage Spider-Man.

Some amazing and genius individual has gone ahead and re-created the 1967 Spider-Man cartoon intro using clips from trailers of the new Amazing Spider-Man film by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield. This is absolutely amazing. I always used to watch re-runs of the cartoon as kid and still do occasionally. The wacky and ridiculous quality of how superheroes were portrayed back in the day is hilarious. And the theme song is still a classic. The Simpsons [Read More]

2012 in Film Part 2.

film_2012_part2

This is Part 2 of the 22 film releases in 2012 that I have taken interest to. Again, I will be working backwards from that list. I hope you all enjoy! On a side note, I know that both of my entries are very subjective and without a doubt I probably missed or forgot about other important/interesting films that are coming out. With that it mind, please feel free to voice your own opinions and suggestions on the movies that [Read More]

Avenging Youngsters.

Oh man, now this is a great commercial. In collaboration with Marvel, Target made a commercial for all their Avengers products. This commercial features a toddler version of the Avengers film ensemble, which is cute beyond control. LOOK AT THESE BABY VERSIONS OF EACH AVENGERS MEMBER. LOOK AT THE HULK. HE’S MY FAVORITE. HE LOOKS SO AWESOME. I want to dress up my future kid as the Hulk for Halloween and have him look as good as [Read More]

Avenging Character Sheets.

BIdTb

A while back, I discovered some pretty well-made fan-made Avengers character posters. They’re nothing new in terms of design, but they are definitely well executed and pretty to look at. I would definitely love these as a print. I should do some research and find who actually made these.. The Iron Man one reminds me of an Iron Man piece I was working on last year.. I should really get back to doing some of my personal [Read More]

Marvel Friends.

Screen shot 2012-03-18 at 10.32.09 PM

What would happen if Marvel decided to make a sitcom about their loved character? Some very, very creative fellow decided to take existing footage from the respective Marvel films and other films that the heroes/actors have been in, in order to create a fake trailer for an Avengers x Friends mash-up featuring Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk, Loki, etc. This is definitely one of the best re-use of footage that I have seen in a [Read More]

HULK SMASH.

Screen shot 2012-03-04 at 10.39.31 PM

FINALLY. A GOOD AVENGERS TRAILER. Every trailer/teaser/spot that has been released until now, I have hated deep down inside my heart. I tell myself that I love it, but I know that inside, I hated them. Last week, they released a new full trailer for The Avengers, and, oh man, so much to love. First off, there’s FINALLY some decent footage of the Hulk/Mark Ruffalo/Bruce Banner in the trailer. All the previous trailers have shown close to [Read More]
